Hooray for internet!

My modem went out on me a couple of days ago.

Coincidentally it was the same day I had sheet rock put in my basement, so I thought the phone line was damaged. You've gotta love big coincidences in your technical investigations. They make for good stories- much later in life.

So after I tried every other configuration possible, I went out and bought a new modem. (I still may return it and just rent from Qwest for a couple of bucks a month). I definitely don't need a tricked out modem for $70 from Circuit City.

That's the 3rd place I went to looking for a DSL modem, hence settling on the price.

So it's working now. Life without the internet was a life changing experience. I was beginning to think this internet thing was a fad.

Did you get more accomplished around the house with no net? I've been laying off the sauce lately (no not booze) but the net over the last few weeks and suddenly my life is more organized. How is that? HAHA!!!! I have time for the gym, my laundry is done and my family is fed. AMAZING at what happens when you give up the internet. But what the hay! Welcome back Beech!

I discovered this thing called a "nap", and going to bed at 10:00 pm. It was nice, but something I wouldn't want to spoil myself with everyday.
