LOVE that Liberty Park shot - great composition, clever to think of shooting there. It's really great.

My Two Cents
When I first re-discovered the desert, it was because I had a bunch of B&W paper at the office that had become obsolete, and was just going to go in the trash, so I said to a buddy, "We should go on a New Mexico shooting tour and shoot a bunch of black and white that I could print on this old paper." It was revolutionary for me, and led me to Utah, which I visited the first time in 2002.
Anyway, here are a couple of black-and-whites from over the years...
Wijiji trail, Chaco Canyon, New Mexico
Mission graveyard south of Farmington, New Mexico
Erosion, Angel Peak Recreation Area, New Mexico
Palo Duro Canyon, Texas
Bisti Wilderness, New Mexico
Mesa Arch, fisheye
Elephant Canyon from Chesler Park, Canyonlands, fisheye
Delicate Arch from below, fisheye. Of all the photos I have ever made, remembering this one scares me the most. There is a ledge just below Delicate Arch that is relatively safe to stand on. Below that is steeper and steeper slickrock that rapidly becomes a cliff. You can see the safe ledge on the left side of this image. When I look back on it, I realize I had inched down that cliff well beyond my limits, and one wrong move would have sent me to the bottom. Live and learn.
