Windy & Dusty on Porcupine Rim
Date: October 11, 2008
Saturday was the start of my final weekend in Moab this trip. I decided to go on another official trail ride and tag along with Jared who was leading Porcupine Rim. Only about eight Jeeps showed up for this trail ride, which I thought was good. However, this trail turned out to be very very bumpy and it took us longer that we had planned to complete the trail. Not to mention that we also missed a turn and passed up the loop we were planning on taking by a few miles. The night before, the temperatures in Moab had dropped pretty significantly and while we were on the trail the wind picked up pretty good and threw a lot of dust into the air. Even with the windy weather and bumpy trail, we had a great day!

On our way back, we took an alternate loop that is not very well travelled

Hey, watch it JP.
One night, around midnight, I built a HIGHWAY DOWN Pritchett Canyon. We did Behind the Rocks and decided to go back to town via Pritchett Canyon instead of taking the dirt road back to the highway then back to town.
We had an XJ with us that had never been offroad and the owner was afraid of scratching it going down. I assured him it would be fine.
Anyway, to get an XJ with a 2" budget boost and 30's down Pritchett Canyon, you can image the engineering I used. Indeed, I got his XJ down and out of Pritchett without a scratch.
I can only imagine the first people UP the canyon that day. Wondering who the f@ck rated it a 5. I'm sure they didn't even spin a tire.

I hate when people stack rocks and then leave them That's how the fun is taken out of trails

I would have made him hop out and move them as he made it over. Don't take a rig on a trail if it's not capable of doing it. If you need to pave a road, unpave it when you're done. I hate that
Hey, down's easy....gravity is always there to help
