Junction Butte
It's backpacking season and with Mon. Tue and Wed am off I got out for a couple of 2 nighters on the White Rim up at I-Sky. The first trip was down Gooseberry and the second down Murphy. Junction Butte was a constant image in both trips and here are a few photos of it's changing face.

Very nice pics. I've done Murphy's trail loop, very cool area.

thats a nice trip. have you ever done gooseberry as a loop? there is a route from the saddle at junction butte up the wingate to the tip of the "Island". exposed but not that bad. saw a small herd of bighorn sheep in that area too.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

Junction Butte is one of my favorite viewpoints. The view from the bottom isn't bad either.

I've heard of that trail but haven't checked it out yet. I stayed on the White Rim sandstone from Gooseberry Cyn around to Monument Basin then took the road back. I did see one bighorn the last morning.
I'm off to the Needles in the morning.
