Poison Springs and North Wash Conditions

    Hey all,

Just a quick update for those interested. A group of us did Arscenic and Slideanide in the Poison Springs this past weekend (9/19) and it was completely dry. The anchors were in decent shape; though some may desire to change them. We backed a few up, just in case.

We also did West (Left) Shillelagh, and Right Leprechaun in North Wash; both were also dry, and had more anchors than necessary...

    Take care,
    A.J.

just got back from North Wash today and....

Shillelagh (both left and right forks) was quick. According to Shane's beta, it says that a group of 6 would take about 3-4 hours to complete. We completed the left fork in less than 2 1/2 hours and the right fork (said it would take 3 hours) we completed that in about an 1 1/2 and it was no speed trip either - believe me. And both were still bolt free.

Blarney (just did left fork (which is better IMO)) and it was bolt-free and the last rappel has changed a bit. In the past you would have to grab underneath the chokestone and stem up and rappel down; now someone put up 30 feet of webbing and eliminates that all together and is easier to descend. Did that in about 2 hours.

uh...also, we hiked at Hog Springs and wow - it is almost dry! The water was just barely seeping through and the pond was probably 3 feet deep at its lowest spot and LOTS of moss. The other spring, about 1/2 mile below is running and provides ample perrenial water.
