Echo Canyon TR 09/14/08

We finally got to take this summer’s run through Echo Canyon on Sunday. There were 4 of us and we had a great time. In the past we have started our hike up to the canyon early in the morning to avoid the sun and heat, but we got a later start in order to stop at the MeanBean and also the permit desk. The cooler September weather was perfect.

After hiking to the top of Half Dome last Sunday, the hike up to the start of the canyon was a piece of cake!

Echo was as fun as always. We had a great time. The water was cold, dark and stinky.

The keeper pot hole had sand in the bottom and he was able to hop out with no difficulty with those long legs.

very cool TR. When I did Mystery I was so jealous of the people that were doing echo that day as we passed the echo turnoff sign.
