Great TR and Shots. Is VA going to post as well?
I need to get this highpoint in myself maybe I can get it in before the snow flies.Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, as vital to our lives and water and good bread

Mountainman
Actually, I planned to let him post and I was going to send him shots in case he wanted to add them to his. He e-mailed me that it might be a while until he gets a chance to post and that I should go ahead and post so I am not sure if he will post when he gets time or not. He did mention meeting you earlier.

I forgot to check my watch but I think vamedtech said about 3 hours from the trailhead to the summit. At least for me it takes about as long to come back down because the trail is so steep in places.

Right on! I was just about to search for info on this, as I'm considering it for my trip in October. Looks quite nice!
So... will it be getting snowy the third week of October?

We had a great hike. Dick was a great hiking companion an his off the wall sense of humer kept me intertained the whole way up. I'll see if I can't post some of my pics soon.

Cool! You were up there on the same day I was on North Peak. You look familiar, so I might have seen you on the trail (like, not long before the avalanche basin section?)

The camera is a Nikon D80 with the 18-70 kit lens. I reduced the size and quality to make a file that wouldn't take forever to upload. The camera isn't too heavy and I keep it in what has to be the worst designed camera case for protection while hiking.
