Zion's Bank
Is this a good bank? Does it have a good reputation in Utah? Is it safe?

I don't like them. Used them longtime ago they were really good at screwing up my husbands accounts. On a positive not, one time when we went through the drive in, instead of giving us back a ten the lady gave a 100 dollar bill. But, I am to honest to have kept it, she was greatful.
In general I don't like banks. I like credit unions. America First, Golden West, or Alliance.Chere'

We've been using them since we moved here and I have no problem with them. Dealing with a small branch, Hurricane, we get really good service.
I've got a couple of CDs with them and they have pretty good interest rates.

My brother-in-law used to work for Zion's. I've always been impressed with their service.
The bank I would NEVER do business with in UT is Mountain America Credit Union. They had some security breach and now I get to take credit card fraud reports like 5 times a week from their customers."All roads, all codes!"

Thanks everyone. I was considering them for a CD that is re-newing, because of their good rates. However, my current bank stepped up and gave me a better rate.

We banked with a small home town bank that Zions bought out. We hated them. Big corporate treatment. Kind of the "Screw You" attitude. We transferred to another small home town bank and love the personalized service.
I'd say you probably dodged a bullet there.

Zion's Bank is the great 'whore of all the earth' spoken of in scripture. That bank was founded by the devil himself. The only entity more evil than Zion's bank is Wells Fargo. Eeee-Vil. As in the Froo-Its of the Dev-IL. Eeeeee-Ville.

Hell's Fargo told me I needed two forms of ID to cash one of their checks, so I pulled out what I could: My driver license and my SS card that happened to be with me that day.
They wouldn't cash the check stating that a Social Security Card is not a valid form of ID.
I scoffed and asked what would qualify as proper ID and get this, they said a library card or maybe an old high school ID.
I've never been back.

I did have a 'good' experience with Wells Fargo.
After my divorce, my ex didn't pay on the car that she took. Ends up that she didn't make any payments. To make a long story short, she took it to the dealership (why not the bank, I dunno).
The sold it at auction for 6k. Of course, since my name was on the title, I was responlible for the remaining balance of 11k.....
I explained my circumstances, and they told me that if I could pay them $5500 they would call it good.
I called AFCU and got a loan and paid them off.Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, as vital to our lives and water and good bread
