    It is about 1 minute of footage for maybe an hour of pictures? Not sure, haven't done the math. It is a series of 30 second exposures on my SLR, then put together into a video. The lights are much slower moving in real time.

    That is simply amazing. It is definitely high on my list of things to do to get far enough north or south to see a display like that.

    Unbelievable. Absolutely beautiful shots. I neglected to post replies on your other Alaska shots (moose, wolves, etc.) but they are incredible too.

    What kind of camera did u use? Is there a special equipment necessary?

    I used my 40D and rebel XT, took a few hundred photos, then blended them into a movie.

    Here's the last one I did, from Northern BC.
