Even Further South On The Housy Today
I left the camera equipment home, except for the idiot camera of course I also tried some other lures I'm sure Loah will approve of and I lost some of them No trout today, more Smallies and I don't complain about that I found an arch and this part of the Housatonic is ledge. Gone is the gravel bottom. I'm no rockologist (geologist), but I believe this bottom is that of granite. It's unbelievable how water can even cut through this hard rock. This bottom is tricky due to the holes that just appear and crevasses that are under the water. Step in one of these things with the current pushing you in the wrong direction, it could make for a very bad six plus weeks.
I was just south of this pool/pondish area where I left off the other day. Just after this island, the river continues down a ravine.
From this next picture is looking to the backside of that island where the water continues through the ravine.

A very picturesque river, indeed.
Good job. Did I see a whitefish in there dangling from a rooster tail?Lost On A Hill

King, there is a whole section dedicated to just the Fly Fisherman
Loah, we call those things Dace or Shiners. They usually get eaten before they reach that size
