Malan's Basin
I have been wanting to do this hike for quite a while.
It is about 3 1/2 miles to the basin, gaining 2162' of elevation. The switch backs are hella steep!
I was able to go up and back down in 3 1/2 hours, so it really isn't that long of a hike.
Looking from Malans Peak to Lewis Peak and Ben Lomond.
Ogden from Malan's Peak.
The Basin Resort
Old Steam Engine boiler more than likely ran the sawmill.
Steep Trail
Cool Formations
Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, as vital to our lives and water and good bread
