    Hiker Rescued, Slate Canyon

Crews rescue woman in Slate Canyon
    August 20th, 2008 @ 11:14pm
(KSL News) Search and rescue teams brought a woman out of Slate Canyon, just above Provo, tonight.
Hikers heard the woman calling for help around 7 o'clock this evening and found her. She had lost her shoes yesterday and spent the night in the canyon.
The Provo Mountain Rescue team helped bring her out.
She was sunburned, dehydrated and disoriented but should be fine.

WTF? How did she lose her shoes?

    Stupid or???

Hope is more to this story than meets the eye.

Another story out there re: Longs Peak in Colorado. A group of hikers caught in a storm I think last month. Sheltered then called for of all things a helicopter because "they were cold" Rangers ended up hiking up with like 12 pairs of gloves and jackets. Unless someone was ill, without critical medicine or had a broken leg I woulda let them sit there a couple of days and then they could have been "motivated" to get themselves down. They were simply unprepared and a little discomforted.
Some people are just stupid in everyday life, unfortunately they greatly inconvenience others when they do it in the outdoors.
