How to crush a soda can

The place I work purchased some used equipment, with it was an extra Pneumatic cylinder.
One day I was looking at this part and I think this will crush a can!

So after work I started cutting, fitting and welding to come up with a usable crusher.

The boys named it the crushinator. It has been done and in operation on a shelf at work for a few weeks but I just found the pictures on my camera and had to share the fun.

Here is the story of the build with pictures...

You got way too much free time at work. By the way, what happens when you crush a full can? (I know you have the answer.)

Now you need an auto loader so you can feed it a few dozen cans at a time.

I think he over did it. You can buy those manual can crashers for a couple of bucks and they do just as good of a job, don't use up any power, and theoretically give your arm a slight workout.

Ah, that's the trouble with you Hungarians and Poles, you are stuck on the old ways of manual labor. Why, I'll bet you still drive to work in a wheelbarrow.
