    Spider Identity - any experts?

Is this peter parker? Does anyone know what kind of spider this is?

It's my job to call the BS around here. Get over it.

Is that a top down view, or a bottom up view?

KILL IT, then ask.......in my garfield voice
Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
The trout do not rise in the cemetery, so you better do your fishing while you are still alive. SGH

It's a bottom up view, you can tell by the way the legs look, next to the spider’s sternum.

I'm no expert but it looks like a brown widow.
My first thought it might be a violin spider, but that looks more like the standard “widow” marking.

That marking (in my mind) would be an indication that it's probably venomous. If I were you, I'd capture it and put it outside.

    COOL picture of it BTW!

After looking around on the web and discussing it with my lady, I found positive proof that it's a Brown Widow.

    Kill it! lol

I wonder if this is the same kind of spider as yours? I found it in my garage the other night, caught it in a little bucket and the poorthing curled himself into a little spider ball thinking I was gonna kill him.

But I didn't have the heart to do that, so I stuck it in my neighbors geranium pot. :nod

I wonder what goes through a spiders brain (if anything) when they find themselves in the clutches of danger and then all of a sudden find themselves amongst a colorful petaly paradise?

I'm thinking it justifies all their spider theology...
