I love the Olympics and plan to watch as much as possible.

I'm interested in how the hoops team will do this time around. I like the swimming and track and field. I wish that we would get more coverage of some of the more unique events: kayaking, mountain biking, etc.

Why does the U.S. have such dumb outfits everytime?

I am way excited. I am hoping for a clean sweep this year. U.S. getting gold, silver & bronze in every category :).

SO cool! This is one of the few athletic events I will actually watch "da,da, dada da da da, da dadadada dadada da da....."
side note: I work with Heather Moody's dad George in the mine....Heather is on the u.s. water polo team....medalled in the sydney olympics & is going for another

I'll watch as much as possible. The 52" HDTV makes such events so much better than the small TV we had in the motorhome. Only downside is the over-long, drippy features NBC has come to love. For me, show the action, I'll read up on how Joe Shmoe overcame whooping cough to go on to be the waterboy for the women's soccer team.

The Chinese have outdone themselves on the new venues, but what about the smog? Can they keep it at bay for two weeks? Pure melodrama.

Wow, so far, opening ceremony has been sensational. However, I got bored with the parade of nations.

The Parade of Nations is only slightly interesting. However, the festivities up to that point were absolutely fantastic. And a bit intimidating as well. Bravo!

I doubt that Great Britain can come close to the kind of spectacle put on by the Chinese. Not many places could.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It sounded like the Chinese gave the director of the Opening Ceremonies a Blank Check and said to him go crazy and make us look amazing. Mission accomplished, IMO.
