The Quarry Trail was awesome. The river was raging, there was runoff on the trail, mud flying, and a group of great guys. Oh ya!!!! Here are some pics.

Ah man, those pics are sweet! Very nice camera work.

I'm gonna split this thread and turn it into it's own Trip Report thread.

I drove up LCC on Saturday. I fogot my camera and the creek and water falls were cranking. The creek was a raging white rapid river from Alta ski to the bottom. I saw no still or clear water.

Nice pics Kirk, Looks like you guys needed a raft rather than a bike with all of the water on the trail.

Hmm, wonder if the creek is runnable?

Awesome pics, what camera is that?

Just curious - What kind of camera and lens were used for taking these photos! Great colors & clarity!

    Thanks for the great comments.

I was using the Nikon D300 and the 85mm f/1.8 lens. A kick butt combination, if I may say so. I believe most of the portraits were taken at f/2.8 and the action shots were taken wide open at f/1.8. I can check to see what the exact setting were, but I can't remember off the top on my head. They were something like 1/640, f/1.8, ISO 400. The shaded areas get pretty dark so it is nice to have a fast lens. I do sometimes miss the wide angle. Nikon should make a 18-200 f/2.8.

Definitely great to see Kirk show up each time. Because then we get to see some stellar photos after the ride.

Thank you Tanya. Very nice compliment.

I do carry the D300 with me. I throw it in my pack and hope I don't crash. I use to just carry my point and shoot, but you just can't get the control I want with the P&S. For me, the photos are worth the hassle of carrying the big camera.

Thanks again for all of the great comments.

Excellent pics- great color saturation. Those cameras (in the right hands) do a great job and are used for many of the great pics at MTBR.com too.

The guy in pic #2 needs to adjust that helmet though covering the forehead=good wearing it like a yamika=bad.
I'm not in Utah, but I like Utah, really..
