    Caught me a fluke!

I had a half a day last week while I was at a trade show in Atlantic City NJ to get out and do a little flounder fishing. While nobody on the boat landed a keeper, I at least caught one, although small. He promptly went back in after the photo. It was windy and the tide was really coming in so we drifted pretty fast. It think that's why there wasn't much catching going on. Anyway I'd much rather spend half a day on the water not catching anything, than sitting in a smoke filled casino on a slot machine.

    Good job.

For some reason...I just don't think "fishing" when I think of Jersey.

What kind of fish do they normally catch over there?

I don't know what else they fish for, but I imagine it is quite varied. Last year we tried from shore, but only caught some mussels. So this time I though we'll go with someone who knows. Wasn't alot better, but like I said I still enjoyed it.

Just saw this and had to post. We lived in NJ and fished salt water for over
over 20 years. It always amazed me that we'd be in the shadow of Manhattan catching amazing fish. Within a couple of miles of shore you have fluke, striped bass, bluefish, sea baa, black fish, weakfish, black drum and I've probably left a few out.

Offshore tuna, shark and marlin are all catchable.

I really can't imagine fueling my boat right now at $4.50/gal and burning 20 gals per hr. Nothing like your fish dinner costing a $100 a pound. LOL
