Back From Rausch Creek Off Road Park

Rausch Creek is located in Tremont, Pennsylvania just off of Interstate 81. This Off Road Park/MX-ATV/Trail Riding/Road Racing facility has a lot to offer. As a Off Road Park, it has been seeing a lot of growth and people to due to rock crawling. Paragon Adventure Park, located just up I-81 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, which was frequented more often has closed and moved from the area. Rausch Creek has stepped up the pace and began to construct some of these Rock Crawling Courses with sprayed concrete, giving the traction factor a huge boost. With that, steeper and more severe angles the could be achieved, with the higher propensity of rolling. The driver and machine have to adapt. Spectator wise, I feel it's a big boost. More throttle, more propensity for rolls, more carnage, just more action packed.

So, Friday night Clayton Off Road and close friends hit the rainy, windy trek to Tremont, Pennsylvania for the competition be held at Rausch Creek. The kicker is, we wheel together and we have two teams competing against each other. Just like any other weekend, except now it's real. In our heads, it's still just out together having fun like always...no gloves to take off.

We arrived at Rausch Creek around four in the afternoon. Rain subsided a bit, wind was making things a little raw. We pulled out the grills and ate well that night, retired early in hoping the weatherman's prediction of partly sunny and in the 60's held true for Saturday.

Saturday morning, sunrise poking through some scattered clouds and trees. Everything appeared promising. That subsided quickly as the event was getting underway. Wind, damp, that raw weather came right back. That is, until the very last event. Everyone shivering, shoulders pushed up and forward, hunched back all in attempts to keep yourself warm. As the sun popped through, everybody looked like spring flowers. Shoulders dropped, heads went up and backs straightened out. Relief.

The competition went well. My friends came in 1st and 2nd, not too shabby

Enough of the talk, I have a few pics to show. The "Moon Buggies" have to be my favorite. I want one
