deer creek canyon - paria area

    WOW.

i loved this !! great hike in. great canyon and slot. beautiful riparian section w/ NO tamarisk, just pretty willows. very cool rock art unlike much i have seen. this works best as an overnight so yo can dawdle and enjoy it more. one day would be very long and tiring. 2 were tiring.

    enjoy !

I really love the pictures that I have seen so far in your photo album. But before I go back to look at more, I wanted to leave a comment on how awesome it is that you were able to take pics of a flash flood in progress. Amazing!!! Something that scares me to death but I find so fascinating at the same time. Ok, going back to look at more.

yeah, too much pretty to see and too little time.

also be warned, i don't remember reading it in kelseys book but there is LOTS of sand here. deep, deeeeep sand. reminded me of bluejohn. but at the same time it made it all soooo beautiful. lower canyon is packed and moist, but the upper and the approach/exit is super fine white sand. lots of fun to slide and roll down though ! like playing at the beach. loved it !

Been on my to do list for a while, along with Stone Donkey. They both sound like a lot of work, but can't be much more work than some others I've done. I like hiking anyway as long as I'm in shape for it. One of these days I'll get down there.
