Thread: Started on my climbing/caving wall

    Started on my climbing/caving wall

Got the steel frame up that I'm going to use to build a climbing/caving wall in my backyard. I can practice ascending ropes for caving on it right now. And i"ll be adding a platform, climbing wall and whatever else i can think of.

Do you need permits for this? I have heard of home made climbing walls but I have never seen one to the magnitude of this endeavour. Let me know how this turns out. I look forward to the finished project.

Finally worked a little more on this. I have part of the wall on it, so I can do some climbing. So now we can do rope ascending practice/training for caving, and a little bit of climbing. Found the panels with the hand holds on ksl classifieds for cheap
Eventually I'll put another wall on the opposite side, with a roof bridging the two.

Worked a little more on my wall.
The next step is to add an overhang on the right side wall, and a platform on top. It aint pretty, but it's fun.

Added a little overhang to our wall today. I wanted a lip to practice getting over for caving, plus something a little steeper for exercise. It's been fun so far
