Paiute 01 (Kimberly area)
ARGH! I've been watching the snow levels and this storm has added an inch of snow around the Silver King mine (Kimberly) area on the 01 Paiute (just south of the Fremont Indian Museum). 26" of snow still up there according to the Snotel site at this link

I'm in Marysvale. I can see the face of the mountain where the Silver King mine is located.
Usually that road is fine by now.
Have not been up there yet.
I'd imagine there is only a few inches at the mine, its not the high.
The whole east side is open.
The mountain passes will not be open until July, never are. Please buy my book - "Paiute ATV Trail Guide" at www.atvutah.com - I need gas money!!!!

Well, tomorrow (Sunday), we're going to attempt to ride from Fillmore to Kimberly (across I-70). There should be around 7 ATV's in our party, and we hope we won't hit snow that's impassable.
Should be at least a 120 mile roundtrip.
I'll post updates after our return.

Unfortunately, I do not, we forgot the camera before taking off.
The trail was not passable however. Just before the 97 Spider trail connects to the Paiute 01 (near Joseph Peak at 8600'), there was much mud, snow and fallen trees blocking the trail.
Also, as I understand it, Kimberly still has 36 inches of snow on the ground.

All I know for sure is I'm freezing my ass off and its the end of May.
Its snowing regularly at 7.000 feet for the past 2 weeks.
Its dropped to 5,000 several times.
I doubt the pass over the Tushars will even open this year. Please buy my book - "Paiute ATV Trail Guide" at www.atvutah.com - I need gas money!!!!
