Boltergiest
Sometime around 2001 or so a guy by the name of Dick Shear's told me of this cool canyon he had discovered and named "Boltergiest". Since Dick had also uncovered and told me about Yankee Doodle I was excited to try Boltergiest, after all, Yankee Doodle is a little sweet heart.... but it took me 7 years to finally get around to doing the Boltergiest route (gosh, it only took me 5 years to get around to Yankee Doodle).
Anyhoo..... After a couple days on business in St. George I had some spare time Saturday afternoon so I hooked up with Bo and Tanya to give it a try..... and the verdict?
We did it so you don't have to.
Think of it as Behunin, Silver Reef style.
Alright, maybe it's not that bad, the canyon does have a few redeeming qualities. I does combine with Yankee Doodle for a nice combo platter. And when combined with Yankee Doodle it could make for a great classroom canyon as it involves some nice basic natural anchors and a sweet little downclimb/chimney.
There is flowing water along the route which is also welcome in the desert....
But the best part of all..... was observing Bo as he attempts to bring back short shorts.
I'll post a route description soon as I get some free time....

Oh yeah.... and we gave Tanya a lesson in how to belay while in the canyon..... for some strange reason she seemed very excited to learn how to control men using ropes.

Fun canyon!
Thanks for having me along!
At least my shorts don't have holes!
Or maybe I need holes to have some character
I would definately suggest combining Yankee Doodle and this one for a fun day of Canyon Hiking.

I do too! Its lush, cool, there are owls and canyon tree frogs and its like an oasis in there. It's gorgeous! -- and dry. I do like dry.
