    Can you feel it??!!

Summer is coming! Depending on where you live, it is almost summer-like outside today!! It seems like this past winter has been extra long and gloomy and today is a real treat. I'm sitting at my desk (it's in the loft area of my house) with all the windows open listening to the breeze in the trees. Of course, because of the wind, I had to pick up trash from all over the front yard this morning when the can blew over!
Never regret anything that made you smile!

Last night we had our usual "plains frost" after an extended period of warmth. I drenched the garden in water and soaked down the fruit trees, which is the recommended method, but I guess we'll see if it worked.

Today, after a 29 degree night, it is 61 and sunny. I am teaching photography tonight, so I hope it is warm enough for us to go out and shoot.

This started April 14th, and it was grand, took my 4 year old for a hike and saw a ton of deer and did a bit of fishing, it has however been cold and miserable and dark since then! today is looking up and Friday and Saturday are supposed to be better!
Sunday starts dark cold times again though so enjoy this weekend while ya got it.
I do have a question though, am I just old? I recall years back when April showers that bring may flowers meant rain!

Iv been dealing with Utah weather for very nearly 37 years. I just dont recall any winter before feeling so long and so miserable, but then I was born in a snow storm in April, as well as my 19th birthday when my car died I walked with no coat for 7 miles with out a ride in a damned blizzard.
I just want some summer sun! I NEED to get back in the uintas, I NEED to spend some time in a tent and wading rivers, back packing the high line trail, sitting in camp blitzed in Christmas Meadows watching moose appear like magic from the trees and willows.
    Bring on the damned sun!
Last summer we spent every weekend but 3 (damned weddings!) camping, hiking, and backpacking through the Uintas, started on memorial day and did it weekly till the snow hit. I guess too much of a good thing and knowing what I was missing made winter feel that much worse and that much longer.

When I was a kid I didn't get it, but now understand what my dad meant when people bitched about the weather and he said "Don't like it? wait 5 minutes, it'll change, welcome to Utah."
