Trails by Causey Reservoir?
I'm in charge our family reunion this summer. I've reserved a cabin (I use the term loosely because it's a 12,000 sq. ft. $2 million dollar home) by Causey Reservoir. Since there are several family members who bike, does anyone know of some good trails right there or up towards Monte Cristo? If needed we can go to Powder Mtn. but I'd rather stay closer to the cabin.
Thanks!Are we there yet?

There is a 2 mile trail that runs on the bank of causey and is up and down and prety fun, there are also some other trails in the area. What date are you looking to be there, there are a ton of trails up by monte cristo, I just don't think it will be rideable untill mid summer.

hard to beat the Snow Basin trails for variety and beauty, IMO
I used to be concerned about my apathy, but now I don't care anymore.

Does Snowbasin charge any fees if we're not using the lift? I think I've been convinced to take our group there. Live2Ride would you be willing to meet me up there towards the first or middle part of June (if the snow is gone) and let me follow you on your favorite ride? Our reunion is near the end of June and all riders going are very experienced.
Are we there yet?

Access to Snowbasin's trails is free as well as the US Forest Service trails adjacent to the resort. The lift is free from the top down. Occasionally there is a dinner at the top, and folks walk up from the Ogden side, and get a free ride on the lift to the Snowbasin parking lot afterwords.

Often when people are talking about the Snowbasin area, they're also including trails such as Maples Loop and Green Ponds, which are actually off of the resort. I'm anxious for the Art Nord trailhead to be ready to start riding from.

Even though a lot of people ride horses there, the cows are there year round. Most of the time it's actually the cows tearing up the trail.

There's an old trail I used to take grouse hunting that will take you from Lightning Ridge all the way down to Camp Kiesel it is an extreme down hill trail encompassing alot of travel in the ass-kicking canyon of Wheat Grass. The problem is I don't know where you can actually find a map of the trail.

snow basin is awesome..but a trail right by casey i really enjoy is the skull crack. if you go to the most southern part of the dam, it takes off on the east side, it goes about 3 miles up to the head waters. fun ride or hike.
go get lost, it is good for the soul
