    Charlton Heston Dies

Charlton Heston dies at age 84 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080406/...mo/obit_heston
I always admired Charlton Heston for his films (Ben Hur and The 10 Commandments are classics), his values, his faith, his politics, his long lasting marriage, his leadership of the NRA and many other things. Not many values oriented types like him left in Hollywood anymore. Rest in peace Chuck.

He really was great. Benhur is a masterpiece, and I believe will ensure him not being forgotten. Whether you like him or not, I think you have to admire that he got off the fence and really rallied for his causes in which he believed.

A masterful actor and all-around great guy. When I saw Ben Hur (first run), I thought it was one of the greatest movies ever.

I just DVRed "Planet of the Apes" (the original, not the pointless, ludicrously expensive remake) two nights ago, so I was thinking about him as an actor.

LOL! Planet of the Apes, I forgot about that! I also liked how Michael Moore turned him into a frightening gun toting crazy old dude by telling him he was a member of the NRA too. That was a scream.

What was even funnier is that Charlton Heston was well into his Alzheimers disease when Moore did the interview and got an oscar for it.

Exploitation of the diseased. Thats priceless!

I guess that's what you'd expect from a guy that promotes his propaganda films as documentaries. Worse is that people actually believe his drivel.

Have you actually seen the sequence? I felt bad for him, I did, I thought it was pretty underhanded cause obviously he didn't see it coming.

Rest in Peace Mr Heston! I always liked his movies. Cannot top Benhur. We watched it on DVD just now in memorium.

Other favorites are 10 Commandments, Planet of the Apes, Will Penny, and the Omega Man, done long before the current I am Legend.
