    Spider - ID Help

I found this little bastard in my garage. What is it? Any arachno-gurus here?

My guess was a male widow.

pretty widow like to me without seeing the belly.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

THAT would, in fact be a black widow. If I was you, I'd be looking around your garage more for these. The males aren't overly dangerous, but the females poison can overpower an adult if not treated.

As I understand it, black widows are treated very easily with insectacides. If this is true, how about a couple of bug bombs/foggers in the garage and some spray around the walls and baseboards?

The one pictured is mooshed. That globular abdomen was full of goo.

I don't really care for spiders all that much.

good call. bomb it back to the stone age. i'm not a big spider fan either. i'd probably fog the garage twice. a couple weeks apart, just in case any eggs that didn't get it the first time have hatched.

don't know if your garage is attached or not. but i would also be looking around crawl spaces in your house. not to be scaring you or anything.

do the whole house on a saturday morning and go out of town for the weekend. come home late sunday.

of course read the instructions on whatever you decide to use. some of the stuff can be pretty nasty.
