Thread: the squeeze

    the squeeze

We went through the Squeeze yesteday on March 29, 2008. It was the
first time for all of us. The canyon was mostly dry. More than half
of the potholes were completely dry. The rest had water between ankle
deep and waist deep, but tended to be closer to ankle deep. Wetsuits
    were not necessary yesterday.

One pothole was already rigged for a tyrolean, we were able to help
eachother out of the other potholes.

Is this normal for the squeeze? We were expecting a lot of water and
were disappointed that there was hardly any. It was still a lot of
fun, but if I go down it again I would hope for more water.

not abnormal for sure. potholes typically fill up in spring after the thaws, and again in late summer when the monsoonal rains dump several inches in a matter of hours.

if the potholes were empty/low sounds like a partner assisting good time!
