    Poison Springs Conditions 3/22/08

After splattering a cow just south of Hanksville, and keeping RAM and company awake all night on Thursday with our comings and goings to and from the crash scene, we decided it would be a waste to just go home without squeezing in a canyon. So we busted on over to the Poison Springs area, and made a quick run through Arscenic. The entire canyon was BONE DRY, and temps are in the high 60s. Perfect weather.

We bumped into Oldno7 and crew at the head of the Arscenic/Slideanide complex, so I expect a TR out of him complete with pics to compensate for this lackluster TR <hint, hint>

Bone Dry! That's how I like them. It's a pain to tote a wetsuit around for just a little section of water -- but better than braving the water.

I am glad you got to do at least one canyon!

By the way, for Arscenic -- the first two stages of that 3-stage entry rappel could probably be downclimbed pretty easily for those who are gifted downclimbers. That last stage is a mandatory rap.

Also, if you're using a rope-bag, and are going to leave your rope after the entry rappel to retreive after exiting the canyon, don't forget to remove the rope-bag and take it with you. The pull passes through several pinch points that a rope-bag would easily get caught on!

    Just an FYI...

lucky for me I've seen this, We hit a cow and need a beer routine before and headed it off at the start.
Just a lesson to those unsuspecting out there on the extreme measures that some canyoneers will go to acquire beer.(hit a cow--bwahaa)

    Nice

Same here about always having the camera, but Bo has been taking mine and taking photos of me lately and Alex did the same on the trip I did with him.

If we ever get together it will be photos of me taking photos of you taking photos of me.
