    First ascent on the North Face of the Eiger? In winter? Solo? That story is amazing. In a David Roberts book if I recall correctly.

    Yeah, Jeff's all world.

    Amazing climbing legacy. His how to ice climbing books and videos are still tops.

    First time I saw him on his canes, I nearly wept. Next time was at the airport, and, I carried his bags to his car and we got a chance to chat a bit. He'd just made the aid climbing video "Clean Walls" (which also includes a first free ascent of a route filmed years prior, bonus!). Said, until he couldn't free climb, he didn't understand the attraction of aid climbing, but, now that he could barely walk, he kinda gets it. Too funny! Great sense of humor and a humble guy.

    Great to have him back in Utah...
