    grand gulch/cedar mesa conditions?

I've been planning a short backpack trip down in the Grand Gulch area for next weekend (Feb. 16-19), down Kane and up Bullet, but am a bit concerned about hiking conditions, in terms of snow. Has anyone been down there recently? Any info on how much snow there still is? I think the trailhead is about 6500ft and canyon bottom around 5600ft.

I wish I had more up-to-date details for you but here is what things looked like on Christmas Eve in Mule Canyon. We've had a ton more snow since then so add a little more snow to the photos.

Here is the phone number to the BLM Monticello Field Office (435) 587-1510. They are the ones responsible for managing Grand Gulch and the Cedar Mesa Plateau. They will have current info.

I would plan on frozen ground in the mornings and mud through out the day once it starts to warm up. We are projected to be in the 50's in Bluff for a couple of days, maybe more snow will be melted off. Cedar Mesa got pounded with the recent snow storms, most of the south facing area's are melting, but the northern faces are still covered. I may drive up there past the trail heads this week and will let you know if I do.

Thanks everyone, for the info. If I do end getting down there, I'll post a short TR.
