    ACA Canyoneering Book

While on the subject of Canyoneering Books.... anyone know the latest on the ACA canyoneering book?

I first heard of the book in 1999 or 2000, I actually read a couple chapters in draft format about 2002.

In 2004 I received this.... "The book is being published in 3 volumes. Volume 1 covers our Technical Canyoneering Course curriculum for canyons up to 3B. Volume 2 covers our Advanced Canyoneering Course -- canyons up to 4C -- and Canyon Rescue Course curriculums. The third book will be titled 'Anchors for Canyoneering' and will provide numerous anchor examples. Volume 1, version 1.0, will start shipping in early January 2005. It is 8.5X11, black and white, spiral bound."

The book also had it's own website at one time but I can't locate it anymore. Looked like the cover art for the book was complete.

In August 2006 I was told the book was almost complete, just needed a few finishing touches.

So.... long story short.... Any more news?

I pre-ordered and paid for the black&white book in 2005, and this was supposed to guarantee me an updated copy of the color version. I finally had to ask for a refund in 2006.

The book's very own website is http://www.canyoneering.us/ . This .US site used to be owned by the Belgian Koen Viaene of Poco Loco Adventures fame, but he transferred it to Richard Carlson in January, 2007.

How's that for a history lesson? Yes, I know, too much time on my hands.
