    Free avalanche class

    Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway is holding a free three-hour avalanche safety class Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Learn how to recognize and avoid potential slide areas and about basic avalanche safety equipment and how to use it. Register by calling 435-654-1791.



    White out ... an avalanche slides down Mount Timpanogos, near Provo, Utah. The avalanche, more than 800 metres wide, mowed down hundreds of mature pine trees.
