Gobbler's Knob - winter ascent - beta please
Hey, I'm planning on hiking Gobbler's knob this weekend, taking the Bowman Fork route, with a variation to avoid the avy paths on the west face.
Anyone ever hiked the Bowman Fork trail in the winter? Any info / suggestions? How long do you think this trip would take?

I assume you are talking about Mill Creek Canyon. I have done Bowan Fork in the winter (grew up a mile from Mill Creek). I have never taken Bowman all the way in the winter, just an out and back to pass the time. It is a well traveled trail even in the winter. You could just hike it in shoes (did one time), so snow shoes may not be needed for a while into the hike. As for time and snow conditions toward the top of Gobbler's Knob peak your guess is as good as mine.
