Pretty Cool

Google's gonna take over the world. It starts with all these free services that should have been free to begin with. Once they've put all the other services out of business, they'll start charging triple what the others were. They'll make Microsoft look like a bunch of candyass amateurs. Apples final place in life will be baking muffins.

I tested it, it works hella good. How they do that for free is beyond me. I'm not sure I buy the whole "trying to become a monopoly" idea though. It seems to me that competition would spring up the very second they started charging anything IMO. And isnt the current 411 service from the phone company itself? I don't think even google has that kind of staying power.
But since they dont generate revenue from advertising, its the only path that makes sense. This has to be costing huge amounts..... The 800#, the software, the indexing, etc. There has gotta be some payoff in the future, I've yet to see them do anything stupid.
I'm more inclined to believe they are just doing it to have a "feather in their cap" so to speak. To incorporate this with all their other services that they do actually make money on. I must ponder this further though, thanks for sharing!
Google Rocks!

It will be interesting to see where this goes.... I'm thinking that google will figure out a way to pay for it with advertising... that's their past MO.
It's a different approch from Apple that charges ya to fart.
MS just ties it into their next OS and charges for it.

I use Goog411 all the time. I wish you could use it for residential also instead of just business.
