    Zion - Lodge/Employee Canyon

I've never done Lodge/Employee Canyon. There are a couple of route descriptions floating around but very few pictures and nothing that gave me a real taste of the route. Anyhoo... I found this video of Lodge/Employee while surfing and thought others might want to see it.... the video is so-so and could use some major editing to condense the time.... but it did give me a good taste of what the route is like.

It's a nice route. I think I like Behunin better though. but you rope guys should like the tricky rope stuff there. I tend to remember one hanging anchor you should get into.

The big reason I have always skipped this route is because it's Behunin-ish.... and ya'll know how much I like that route.

It's a shame we don't have the same 'taste' Ice.

And... you can see, on that first rappel shown (2nd rappel in canyon), the chain is not really long enough. The anchor should be about 2' longer, to make the pull easier. Difficult pulls in that canyon.

The entire time I was watching the video I'm thinking "sure happy those are not my ropes, they are going to be trashed".
