    Strawberry 12-31-07

We went up to Strawberry over the long weekend to do a little ice fishing. Fished for about 4 hours and landed 8 cutts, all in the slot. I've only fished Strawberry 4 times (new to the state) but I've never caught anything other than cutts that measure in the slot. What's the deal? Anyway, here's a pic from the trip.

Wow! Nice lookin' cutt. Yeah there are some bows in there but sometimes thats just how it goes. I am actually glad that they made those restrictions a few years ago. I used to go up there every weekend before the restrictions. It was like a fish slaughter every night at the cleaning station. Had to be done.

    Where did you move from?

Nice job. That pesky slot can be annoying, but it's worthwhile.

The best way to catch rainbows at the berry is to try for the cutts.

Seriously! I've been trying to nab a cutt over the slot since the beginning of the year, but keep hooking into nice bows instead.

    Good luck.

Check out this huge cutthroat that just got taken a few days ago. It should appear on page 4 of this thread:
