My knee surgery
OK, so it happened today. Not a big one, just a scope with a Lateral Release. They moved my kneecap over so it won't dislocate so much, and cleaned out some arthritis.
And... I took some pics. Not of the surgery of course, I'm not even remotely interested in those.
The best part? My wife was my nurse.
I also had her shoot some video of me going under anesthesia. I counted all the way down from 10 .... but then started mumbling.
I'll put that video up soon.
For now, I've got my PC at my bed, wireless keyboard and mouse, and I don't have to go back to work until Jan 2.
Oh, and I gots lotsa pain pills.

Pain pills and PCs don't mix. You need a designated typist.
Never regret anything that made you smile!

Most guys would be lucky to have a cute nurse. But you are extra luck to have a cute nurse for a wife!
Get well soon.

Get well soon Hopefully you will rehab soon and be ready to rock and roll by spring!! It's nice having a wife as a nurse, better yet mine is a Nurse Practiocioner so she can prescribe!!!
Two wheels are better than four, keep the rubber side down.

Sorry to say this, Beech, but my arthroscopic surgery 10 years ago did not help. Most of my friends who had it say the same.

I'm going in again in a year to do a more intensive surgery on my right knee to stabilize the knee cap. They'll have to slice me open for that one. It'd better work.

Here's a vid of me going under. I actually did pretty good. I counted all the way down from 10.
The best part is, although inaudible, after I got to 1, I said "You stay classy, San Diego".

Good luck Beach! I've had both knees scoped and have had no problems since- did have to quit basketball though- that has been tough! Oh, well. I've replaced it with mtn.biking. A word of advice- do what your doctors tell you and don't rush the healing process. Most guys I know where the surgery didn't work was because they tried to get back to their sporting activities way too soon because their knee felt good for a few days. Rest up and let your family pamper you for awhile.
Are we there yet?
