Ice enters the room.... patiently looks around.............. and then exits quietly through side door.

Immediately heads for kitchen to get a huge drink of water before attempting to enter this years pissing contest....

Yeah, but Dan's newer to the scene, not to mention his pics blow everyone else's out of the water...

Eric, yep, I do work. Quite a bit. I do computer geek stuff for Oracle. I just make sure to take time to do the things I enjoy. Don't get enough vacation time (who does?) at just over three weeks. My list is long mostly because my main canyon partner, Jonas, and I both have an adventure racing background. We usually do pretty big days, so I get a lot of canyons in in way fewer trips than many.

For instance, the entire Blue John system was in one day. We went down Squeeze East, up Main East, back down Main East to the confluence, down Lower Main to the big drop, back up to the confluence, up West Blue, over to and down Little Blue, back to the confluence, and then up Main Blue; all in one day.

Your schedule will be awesome when school is done Eric. I better start drinking water now... ;)

Anyway, I'm sure Shane or others will beat me; but I really don't mind. I'm happy with the amount I've been able to get out. (However, if I had the chance to get out more, I'd take the opportunity!)

    Take care,
    A.J.

    Canyonings This Year

I am an infrequent visitor to this forum, but would like to participate...

This year was a slow year for me, but here is what I visited this year:

    1) Misery
    2) Mystery
    3) Keyhole
    4) Pine Creek
    5) Cheesebox (West Fork)
    6) Black Hole
    7) Birch Hollow (aborted after getting to the first rap--too much rain coming down)

    Plans for next year
    1) Birch Holow -Orderville (will be my third attempt after two previous aborts. I have had bad luck every time I plan a trip for this one)
    2) Behunin
    3) Larrys
    4) Moonshine
Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow

That's awesome Tom! It's gonna take a lot to top that. You beat out A.J. by over 40 canyons. Sooo......I think that put you in the lead with 11 feet, 5 inches!!

Over 100 canyons in one year.....that's a really great year!

Well, actually, that is over 100 canyon DAYS on the year. Far less than 100 canyons, since 22 days each in Water Canyon and on Lamb's Knoll.

And Dan, quite the resume for the Rookie year.

My year was the worst year I have had in a long while. Too much work and a couple of booboos have reeked their havoc on me.

Heaps (OK, no complaints here )
    Larry x2
    Subway
    Zero G
    Not Mindbender
    Carpy's canyon
And hopefully some casual ones at Freezefest.

Not much for me but the juices are still flowin' for more.

    I guess I'll take a leak too.....

    Boss Hog
    Trail
    Hard Day Harvey
    Good Day Jim
    Dragonfly
    El Salto
    Labarinto
    Chipitin
    Matacanes
    Hydrophobia
    Black Hole
    Pine Creek
    Das Boot/Subway
    The Squeeze
    Quandry yo-yo
    Crack
    Zero G
    Good Intentions (x2)
    Slideanaide

So far, I think this has been one of my better years for canyoneering. It's amazing I'm still married, my kid recognizes me and I have a job.

Wow...some of you folks must really be into canyoneering (ha ha).

For me, get ready, here's my total for the year...

    Big fat...zero.

My turtle head musta got scared and went inside...can you measure negative?

How many months have to pass with no canyons before my membership as a canyoneer is revoked?

Maybe I'll sneak one in before the end of the year...

I'm thinkin' that'd still go down as a climbing day, and not a canyon day.

    Dang it.

Uhhh, you got something in mind?

Yah! The dating scene in Mount Carmel is somewhat less active than I was lead to believe.
