North Wash Conditions
Just got back from a long weekend in North Wash, and the conditions were great. The weather was wonderful with 70's during the day, and 30's at night. Clear and sunny most of the days, with some light clouds with no rain potential for the others.
Overall, the canyons had pretty dry conditions. Exact conditions in the order they were done:
Left/West Leprechaun: Dry with only a few muddy sections.
Middle Leprechaun: Dry with only a few muddy sections.
South Maidenwater: Had three (relatively) deeper water sections, all three were just below waist level on a 5'8" person. Two could be stemmed enough to only get knee deep or less. The last one (very near the exit) had too muddy of walls. Nobody used wetsuits and nobody was very cold; but we had good weather.
Middle Maidenwater: Dry.
Sandthrax: Had some water, but if you had the skills to get to the water sections; you would very likely be able to easily stem over the water. ;)
Left/West Blarney: Had one small water/mud section that was smelling quite foul. It was only around ankle deep though. To stem over, you have to go WAY high; not recommended. Wash off in the hog springs flow across the road instead.
Right/East Blarney: Dry
It was a great weekend, with lots of great company with groups from Rick and Courtney also staying at the Sandthrax site. Great to see and visit with you guys! Hope to cross paths again soon.
Hope that helps!
