    Paria Area Slots

Doing school and work full time and it is killing me! I desperately needed a break but was too busy with school crap to get out on the weekend. Did a spur of the moment trip down to the slots along the Cottonwood Wash road, only had one day and not enough time to find partners so I opted for something easy. Did Round Valley Draw (no pictures) which was really nice, then Bull Valley Gorge, which was even nicer (just flooded so a fair amount of cold water up to my waist. Turned around at a spot that looked at least chest deep). Just for the record, the log Kelsey says was there in 2003 to help at a 10 - 12 foot drop was gone. Take some rope to help with the drop, it was a hard downclimb because the ground was so wet I had an inch of sand stuck to my shoes. I wrapped some webbing around the rock and used it in case I slipped. Climbing back up the webbing was useless, but it would be much easier with a boost from a partner. After that hit up Willis Creek, it's OK except for one really short, but really beautiful section. Bull Valley Gorge and Round Valley Draw would stand up to any slot in beauty, only downside is that they are short. Pictures of BVG and Willis from my horribly crappy cell phone camera are below. Photoshop, and shrinking them makes them look better than they really are. The lighting in BVG was perfect, wish I had a real camera as I would have got some really nice shots.

    Eric.

Hey, thanks for the TR and pix. Pretty good under the circumstances. I've done Willis Creek a couple times, but never wanted to try BVG by myself. I'll bet it was a lot of fun.

    Cool
I wonder how many of these slots have old cars in them. We found this one in a canyon near lake powell.
