    Round Valley Draw

Anyone done it? I seem to remember Shane mentioned it once and was working on a twist? Hints of anything different out there?

Still on my to-do list. The twist is I think I have figured out how to snag two slots for the price of one.... still working on some of the details for the twist.

sure ... nice canyon. one variation would be to do a loop down booker canyon and up round valley draw. MK describes both in his non-tech guide.

rvd is pretty, seemd kinda short if memory serves me right. but very pretty.

booker is easy to get into, pretty, and it makes a fuller day to loop the 2. we started from the rvd th and road walked to bookers head (one of 'em), droped in and exited rvd maybe 8 hours later ? + or -.

    Never mind

So much for a day off to hike! Seems I promised a couple of weeks ago that I would take my teen daughter to a nearby town for a homecoming date.

Better check with the Cannonville VC on the conditions of the road. Road into upper Hackberry was washed out recently; Round Valley Draw has had similiar problems in the past 4 years.

    Thanks for the tip!

Do those washouts in the Staircase get cleaned up quickly?

All depends upon their priorities. Round Valley is basically a tourist road while Upper Hackberry has grazing on it.

Same thought I had! The man is masochistic! It's still an Osprey though! He is having a little bit of knee issues so a lighter pack is good at times.

Thing is that I took an extra shirt (transition), 2 drybags, A 60' rope, Jerky, several clif bars, 2 headlamps, batteries, knife, tape emergency fire stuff and the only thing I used was a couple pieces of tape, 1 clif bar and 1 and a half liters of water.....oh yeah my camera too. Didn't need a big pack for a short easy hike! Rigging for Rescue 40 hour annual training coming up this month soon and I can make up for being wimpy yesterday.
