this is by mount charleston outside vegas. pretty cool looking mountains. then once you get in 'em - way cool. big stands of bristlecone pines. these are really cool trees. the whole landscpae seemd right out of middle earth to me, and the bristlecones have a luminence all their own. the contortions of the trunks and boughs were mesmerizing, i could have spent hours wandering and taking abstract detail pics. need to get a good 1:1 macro for this stuff though. click any pic if you interested in more...

Very nice! I'm heading up to Kyle Canyon this weekend for the two waterfall hikes. Great pictures! Those bristlecones are some amazing trees! So nice to have all that and so close to Vegas. cool!
