Police Looking for Hit-and-Run Suspect
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=1557349
Police are in East Canyon today trying to recreate a hit-and-run accident that sent a cyclist to the hospital.
They are hoping any clues found will help lead them to the driver responsible. The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The cyclist who was hit is in critical condition with head injuries at the University of Utah Medical Center.
Police were on the scene in Affleck Park today looking to recreate the collision and get more precise information.
The cyclist was going down a one-lane road when he was struck by a car. The cyclist, 23-year-old Dallon Loertscher of Idaho Falls, was thrown onto the car's hood and windshield, then launched over the side of the road as the car accelerated.
Deputy Bret Stewart of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said, "We're looking for the public's help on this. Any information that you can give us, please call our dispatch and they will forward the information to me. And I will be to follow up on that and hopefully come up with some conclusion for the family and the victim."
Police are looking for a 1990 to 1993 Chevy Lumina. It is red or maroon in color with front-end and windshield damage. The car left the scene and police are asking you to call Salt Lake Police if you have any information.
This happened near a campground and witnesses say the Chevy simply took off. The driver could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Person Comes Forward in Hit-and-Run
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=1563694
A person has come forward in the hit-and-run at Affleck Park Campground.
Investigators have spoken to the individual, but they won't say who the person is. They say at this time, no arrests have been made in the case.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff's office says the car that investigators believe collided with 23-year-old Dallon Loertscher has been found and is being examined by investigators.
Loertscher was riding his bike Saturday night when he was struck head-on by a speeding car as it drove through Affleck Park Campground.
The driver did not stop and fled the scene. Loertscher suffered face, head, back, and neck injuries. He has been through a series of surgeries.
Gene Kennedy will have more on this story coming up on Eyewitness News at Noon.
