TR: Lone Peak
Spent the night on Lone Peak Friday night, summiting early Saturday morning. The cirque has to be considered one of the classic views in the Wasatch, simply amazing.
We approached via Jacob's Ladder, which I thought was the least enjoyable hike I've ever done, up until the junction with Draper Ridge. But from the junction on, it is unreal.
Water is all dried up for the year. We pumped out of a stagnant pothole in the cirque, as there was no flow to speak of.
Pics are here: http://www.danransom.com/TripReports/?p=112
Enjoy.

Nice shots.
Thanks for the heads up on the Jacobs Ladder trail. When I hit that peak I think I'll try the Bear Canyon Trail.

I wish I had taken pics of this hike, I put the whole trip on digital video, I agree with what I call the Cathedral as being one of the most if not the most amazing visuals in all of the Wasatch. I did cross a lot of running water down the gut of the main drainage just for information for future hikers. I also agree with Jacobs ladder to Enis Peak, can you say, "gain elevation in each and every step."
I will post pics of last years LP, but this year was a much better hike and route to the summit.ethical pursuit ethical kache
