Like flowers? Go soon!
Alta is looking pretty sweet!

Hope those are still there when we return to Utah in about a week. Plan to drive Mirror Lake Highway, will now consider visiting Alta again, as well as Sundance.

Great pics! What is the deal with hiking Alta? Do they charge you? where are the TH?

Hiking at Alta is free. There are a number of trails, but the most popular is the Cecret Lake trail, which runs from a parking lot up to Cecret Lake. It's about 1.5 miles round trip, so it makes a nice hike for kids. If you choose to do the Cecret Lake or Catherine's Pass trails you may be held in the parking area in the town until parking spaces open. (On the weekends this wait can be 45 minutes or more).
Here's a list of trails available from the Alta area:

I'm planning on hitting Mount Superior/Monte Cristo this Sunday, which is accessed from the Cardiff Pass.

Alta has a free shuttle now which is really convenient. No more waiting for open parking places. I recommend hiking Catherine's pass for the flowers... to make it an even more awesome hike, continue up to Sunset Peak - the views there are amazing!!
