ATV Wakeboarding - video
Well, wake(less)boarding anyways....
I met up with accadacca at Bear Lake this weekend, and we decided to try a little experiment - Wakeboarding behind an ATV along the beach.
It was a very fun success.
The average water depth was 4 inches as we were probably around 15-20 feet off shore. We used the standard 70' ski rope, pulled by a Honda Foreman.
20-25 mph was ideal. Anyways, I had the helmet cam of course, so we took some sweet pioneering video.
You can watch the YouTube version below,
OR
I would suggest downloading the high resolution version HERE (96 MB, 6:56 long, 640 X 480 resolution)

I did something simular at the beach when I lived in California. We used a 4x4 Toyota truck and homemade skim board.
We learned two things (or reminded ourselves we already knew them.
1. Salt Water is very bad for cars.
2. Mud under 3 inches of water really hurts at 35 mph.
It was a lot like your video but with waves crashing up on you from the side that you could jump off of. We found ourselves getting deeper and deeper in the water though, a couple of times the waves came in so deep that they lifted the truck right off the sand.
Are there any other lakes in Utah have a shore line like that in Utah? Any place closer?

This was actually on the Idaho side, where it's still legal to run the ATV along the beach. Your best bet would be to find a private pond that you could continually drive circles around.
Otherwise, the beaches would have people on them, and a 4' high rope cruising along at 30 mph doesn't sit well with people in the water.

I want to know if you wore a life jacket in 4" of water?
