5 Meter Tape Measure

I just got a little chuckle at this, maybe I'm reading a little too much into it.

MTP hands me a freebie tape measure he got from RC Willeys when he bought his 55" TV. It's a 5 meter tape, so I expected it to have inches as well as centimeters on it. It just had inches, so I was wondering why they didn't just call it a 15' tape.
