    cycling the Bryce area

Next weekend heading out to Red Canyon to camp, and ride the hoodoo's near bryce. Have not been there in years! Questions:

Can my dog hang out in Bryce?
Can my dog mt bike w/me on the trails in Red canyon,
Where is the best camp site off the beaton trails?
Taking both bikes, road and mt, any suggestions? Probably doing some roading thru Bryce.

any comments or suggestions are welcome
    Thanks

    Hi Viki and Welcome!

I am not a biker, but do hiking in the Bryce/Red CAnyon area.

A dog in Bryce... probably not? Dogs are usually not allowed in the National Parks, however Red Canyon is in Dixie National Forest so pets are allowed there. The campground in Red Canyon is really nice and far less crowded than in Bryce Canyon.

Here is a link to my and Bo's website on Red Canyon and Bryce Canyon.

Let me know if you have questions. Someone in the group just posted a trip report for biking in Red Canyon.

I think you can have your dog on the Thunder Mtn trail, along with others right there in the area, the rules just change once you enter the National Park.

Be sure to take some pictures and let us know how it went!

Make sure you ride Thunder Mountain - it's crazy awesome!

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. ~ Frost
