May I suggest the Windows XP Image Resizer Powertoy.

I think you'll find you can keep your pics much larger, and about 1/3 the filesize.

Here are some tips for it.

Or since you have photoshop, just choose save for the web. They like them to be 640 width on this group. Then just choose [quality} something under 80.

Nice trip report and photos! I know you have wanted to do this one for a long time.
Thanks Tanya! I'll practice this with photoshop. Yes I had wanted to hike WT for a very long time. Ready for South Guardian, Buckskin and East Fork?

Yeah, if I ever get enough employees so I can go anywhere this spring, winter and fall.

They'll show up knocking on the door begging soon! If not you know that you have one "employee" that'll be pretty consistent one day a week

Awesome shot, Bo. I think I met you coming out of Paraunaweep heading towards Checkaboard Mesa a couple of years ago 4th July. A buddy and I just finished doing Fat Man's.

You won't find any kind of shortcut on your desktop when you've installed this. You just simply right click on a picture, and the option to "Resize Pictures" will show up in the pop up menu. Here's what it will look like:

Don't worry, this doesn't "overwrite" your original pictures, it just creates a smaller copy. For a 640 X 480 image, you should be right around the 50 kb range.

No prob. The actual download is only 520kb, so I'd say you're still fine with dial up.

Think I "member ya"...Thanks for the compliment on the picture. It was a very hazy day, but I really liked the view looking toward the Great Arch! Gosh...isn't it hard to find a place in Zion that sucks?. I love the place. Will see you soon I'm sure!
