Nice intro to canyoneering article.... good job Jeff.

And a little hint to canyoneers.... I have found hooking up with some of the 4x4 guys to be very beneficial to both parties. The 4x4 guys can often get you into and out of some extremely remote and rugged country. In exchange they often gain experienced canyon leadership.

Probably should. I've had my share of rope bags, but I always seem to end up not using it for one reason or another.

Nice article. Thanks. As for the double coil, If I read the article correctly this was before the Tom Jones rope silo. I find that little invention the fastest and easiest rope storage method. YMMV.

Especially in wet canyons, only way to go.

Finally had a chance tonight to sit down and read the article. Good Read, Great Magazine altogether. The article was a good introduction hitting on points most don't think about when they get started ie. flash flood dangers. Some just look at the fun and jump in before getting all of the facts.

Last night I was asked to prepare a presentation on Canyoneering to present locally on a regular basis. Reading this article pointed out some important items that I want to make sure are included in my presentations so I am not responsible for someone jumping in and getting in trouble.

Thanks for putting the Magazine together and distributing it. I hope you continue to grow with it.
