Nice intro to canyoneering article.... good job Jeff.
And a little hint to canyoneers.... I have found hooking up with some of the 4x4 guys to be very beneficial to both parties. The 4x4 guys can often get you into and out of some extremely remote and rugged country. In exchange they often gain experienced canyon leadership.
Note: the magazine is free to download in PDF version and is about 18mb in size.

Yup, nice intro to canyoneering. They should get a rope bag though.

Oh... and thanks to both Jeep Freaks and Jumar for pimping Climb-Utah.... mucho appreciated.

That pic was some years ago. Lately I've just been doing the "canyoneering coil":

Oh and I no longer bother trying to keep my pack dry...and I wear a helmet a lot more now...

Nice article. Thanks. As for the double coil, If I read the article correctly this was before the Tom Jones rope silo. I find that little invention the fastest and easiest rope storage method. YMMV.

nice article jumar!
i am linking it in the links page
it would be nice to upload the 4 four pages as a pdf, but it'd likely go against their restrictions for use.

Yeah, Jeff did a great job! Thanks again Jeff, can't wait for your next story. ;)
As far as usage, feel free to pull the 4 pages from the PDF and do a link to the mag. I have no problems with it at all! And thanks for all the positive response, we're really looking to make our magazine as diverse as possible with not just Jeep adventure but adventure in general.

Re: Canyoneering story in JPFreek Adventure Magazine
Finally had a chance tonight to sit down and read the article. Good Read, Great Magazine altogether. The article was a good introduction hitting on points most don't think about when they get started ie. flash flood dangers. Some just look at the fun and jump in before getting all of the facts.

Thanks for putting the Magazine together and distributing it. I hope you continue to grow with it.
